Henry Schein symposium addresses key topics in orthodontics

BARCELONA, Spain: Over the weekend, the orthodontic division of global dental supplier Henry Schein hosted its second annual European Carriere Symposium. The event focused on orthodontic excellence and technology, and its implications for the future of orthodontics. Topics ranged from advancements in self-ligation to airway-friendly orthodontics and digital orthodontics. From 22 to 24 September, more than 200 orthodontists and staff members attended the event, which was held at the famous five-star seaside hotel W Barcelona in Spain.

Kicking off the symposium’s scientific program on 23 September, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and New Product Development at Henry Schein Orthodontics Ted Dreifuss said: “It is part of our mission to expand the opportunities that are available for patients and educate orthodontists about these new technologies and techniques.” The symposium, which drew participants, speakers and business partners from over 20 countries, including countries throughout Europe, the U.S., Asia Pacific, and the Middle East, provided an exclusive opportunity to learn more about the applications of the Carriere System and other relevant topics from experts in orthodontics.

Keynote speaker Dr. Luis Carrière focused on how facial, skeletal, and dental harmony can be achieved using the Carriere System. Using cases treated at his practice, the Spanish orthodontist demonstrated that orthodontic treatment is a favorable alternative for patients with facial disproportions who would otherwise have to undergo invasive surgery.
